Finding
Ballinlough Castle
Ballinlough Castle is
located in County Westmeath, on the N52 (Kells to
Mullingar Road) approximately 3 miles south of
Clonmellon and 4 miles west of Athboy.
From Dublin
Leave Dublin via the Navan Road (N3). Follow N3 past
Blanchardstown until two miles after dual carriageway
ends, then turn left to Trim (c. 15 miles). In
Trim turn right at second roundabout over River Boyne,
over traffic lights and on to Athboy (c. 8 miles).
In Athboy turn left into Main Street, pass Darnley Hotel
on left then immediately right at Video Vision shop. Go
400 yards, turn left and follow road for 4 miles until
Ballinlough Castle and then turn right into the car
park..
From the North
From Kells take N52 for Mullingar. Continue through
Clonmellon and on for approx 3 miles until first road to
left. Up this road for 100 yards until T junction with
grey wall in front. Turn left and continue 300 yards
until gate for car park on left.
From the South
From Mullingar take the N52 for Kells.
After 12 miles continue through Delvin. Four miles
after Delvin Road swings left with two turns to right.
Take second of these turns (keeping grey wall on right)
and continue for 400 yards until gate for car parking on
the left.
